Photos and Video from "Surgical Approaches to the Skull Base" December 2011 CME Course
One of the highlights of our recent CME event, "Surgical Approaches to the Skull Base," was the hands-on cadaveric craniotomy accompanied by a 3D video tutorial. Under the guidance of course directors Philip E. Stieg, PhD, MD, and Antonio Bernardo, MD, participants moved from the lecture hall to the Surgical Innovations Lab, where they donned scrubs to perform the procedure, all the while being guided by a three-dimensional video running on screens above their tables. Participants working in teams prepared their tables and specimens for the procedure.
The lights go down to make the video as clear as possible; here, two participants check the video screen as they begin their work.
Donning 3D glasses helps participants view the video in stunning detail as they follow the procedure on their specimen.
