Clinical Neuro-Oncology Program

The Clinical Neuro-Oncology Program sees approximately 300 patients each year, about 100 of which are new patients with primary malignant brain tumors. All types of adult and pediatric brain tumors are treated, including both newly diagnosed and malignant tumors. Strategies for maintaining control of tumors after surgery include radiation therapies (including stereotactic radiosurgery and brachytherapy), and delivery of drugs and other anti-tumor agents. A wide spectrum of brain tumor clinical trials is offered. The Weill Cornell Brain Tumor Research Group's (BTRG) focus on translational research makes the most recent and promising investigational regimens available to patients who participate in clinical trials.

The Weill Cornell Multidisciplinary Brain Tumor Board meets weekly to discuss individual patient cases and develop personalized therapies for a wide variety of intracranial tumors. The Board consists of neuro-oncologists, neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, neuroradiologists, neuropathologists, and research staff.

Dr. Susan Pannullo directs the neuro-oncology division at Weill Cornell Medical College. She is one of the few physicians in the nation trained in neurology, neurological surgery, and neuro-oncology. The division offers world-class research and treatment for cancers affecting the brain and spine.
